Bay Biosciences provides high quality, clinical grade, matched cryogenically preserved sera (serum), plasma, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCbiofluid samples from patients diagnosed with hemorrhoids.

The sera (serum), plasma and PBMC biofluid specimens are processed from hemorrhoids patient’s peripheral whole-blood using customized collection and processing protocols.

Hemorrhoids Overview

Hemorrhoids also known as piles are a condition in which the veins located in the anus and lower rectum gets swollen.

These can develop inside the rectum, which are called internal hemorrhoids and under the skin around the anus which are known as external hemorrhoids. Around half of the adults experience the symptoms of hemorrhoids by the age of 50.

External hemorrhoids are the most common and most troublesome. Hemorrhoids cause severe pain, itching, and difficulty sitting down.

Types of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids can happen inside or outside the rectum. The type depends on where the swollen vein develops. Following are the types of hemorrhoids:

  • External: Swollen veins form underneath the skin around the anus: The anus is the canal where poop comes out. External hemorrhoids can be itchy and painful. Occasionally, they bleed. Sometimes they fill with blood that can clot. This is not dangerous, but can result in pain and swelling.
  • Internal: Swollen veins form inside the rectum: The rectum is the part of the digestive system that connects the colon (large intestine) to the anus. Internal hemorrhoids may bleed, but they usually aren’t painful.
  • Prolapsed: Both internal and external hemorrhoids can prolapse, meaning they stretch and bulge outside of the anus. These hemorrhoids may bleed or cause pain.

Causes of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids occur when there’s too much pressure on the veins around the anus. Following are some of the possible factors that could contribute to develop hemorrhoids::

  • Family history of hemorrhoids
  • Eating too much meat or foods that are low in fiber
  • Straining during a bowel movement
  • Complications from chronic constipation
  • Chronic diarrhea
  • Sitting for a long period of time, especially on the toilet
  • Frequently lifting heavy objects
  • Being older than age 50
  • Lack of exercise
  • Weakening of the supporting tissues in your anus and rectum that occurs with aging
  • Pregnancy (Pelvic pressure from weight gain)

Signs and Symptoms of Hemorrhoids

Following are common signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids:

  • Bleeding after having a bowel movement
  • Swelling near the anus
  • Itchy or painful lump near anus
  • Fecal leakage
  • Painful bowel movements
  • Severe itching around the anus
  • Irritation and pain around the anus
  • Hard lumps near the anus that feel sore or tender

Bay Biosciences is a global leader in providing researchers with high quality, clinical grade, fully characterized human tissue samples, bio-specimens and human bio-fluid collections.

We have samples available are cancer (tumor) tissue, cancer serumcancer plasma cancer PBMC and human tissue samples from most other therapeutic areas and diseases.

Our company Bay Biosciences maintains and manages its own bio-repository, human tissue bank (biobank) consisting of thousands of diseased samples (specimens) and from normal healthy donors available in all formats and types.

Our biobank procures and stores fully consented, deidentified and institutional review boards (IRB) approved human tissue samples and matched controls.

All our human tissue collections, human specimens and human bio-fluids are provided with detailed samples associated patient’s clinical data.

This critical patient’s clinical data includes information relating to their past and current disease, treatment history, lifestyle choices, biomarkers and genetic information.

Patient’s data is extremely valuable for researchers and is used to help identify new effective treatments (drug discovery & development) in oncology, other therapeutic areas and diseases.

This clinical information is critical to demonstrate their impact, monitor the safety of medicines, testing & diagnostics, and generate new knowledge about the causes of disease and illness.

Bay Biosciences banks wide variety of human tissue samples and biological samples including cryogenically preserved at – 80°C.

Including fresh frozen tissue samplestumor tissue samples, FFPE’s, tissue slides, with matching human bio-fluids, whole blood and blood derived products such as serumplasma and PBMC’s.

Bay Biosciences is a global leader in collecting and providing human tissue samples according to the researchers specified requirements and customized, tailor-made collection protocols.

Please contact us anytime to discuss your special research projects and customized human tissue sample requirements.

Bay Biosciences provides human tissue samples (human specimens) from diseased and normal healthy donors which includes:

We can also procure most human bio-specimens and can-do special collections and requests of human samples that are difficult to find. All our human tissue samples are procured through IRB approved clinical protocols and procedures.

In addition to the standard processing protocols Bay Biosciences can also provide human plasmaserum, PBMC bio-fluid samples using custom processing protocols, you can buy donor specific sample collections in higher volumes and specified sample aliquots from us.

Bay Biosciences also provides human samples from normal healthy donors, volunteers, for controls and clinical research, contact us Now.
