- Wilson’s disease, which causes a buildup of copper in your liver and other body tissues
Unknown Causes
It’s also possible to develop liver failure without an identifiable cause.
Symptoms of Hepatic Syndrome
Symptoms of liver failure may include:
- Ascites, of fluid buildup in the abdomen
- Bruising or bleeding easily
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Edema, or fluid buildup in the legs
- Itching
- Jaundice, a yellowish color of the skin and eyes
- Loss of appetite
- Nausea
- Weight Loss
These symptoms can also be attributed to other conditions or disorders; consequently, this can make liver failure hard to diagnose. Furthermore, some people don’t show any symptoms until their liver failure has progressed to a fatal stage. As a result, you may be disoriented, drowsy, or even slip into a coma by the time you reach this stage.
